Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American actor and singer is extremely well-known. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and faced a lot racial taunts, which caused her to feel uncomfortable. It was during her ninth grade that she gained confidence following her acclaim in an audition. She not only gained confidence because of the experience, but she also changed plans for her career. In 1992, she received her master's degree from the city's Julliard School. When she was 23, she started her professional career, making her debut at the Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. The biggest achievement of her career was in the role of The Lady of The Lake in Spamalot's original Broadway production. She did not only win the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. The following year, she was cast in the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. As a well-known singer, she also released a single and an extended show. In her role as an activist, she strives in the cause of LGBT equality.
